Gornja Vrbica is a village in northeastern Montenegro. It is administratively a part of the Petnjica Municipality.

M. Lutovac (1965)[edit]

  • Agovići (35 families), originally from the vicinity of Plav. While in Plav, their ancestor converted to Islam from Roman Catholicism. He immigrated to hamlet of Peteševica in Tucanje, from where one branch of the family settled in Gornja Vrbica nine generations ago, and the other branch in neighboring Orahovo.[1]
  • Ćemani (30 families), originally from Kuči. They are related to the Eastern Orthodox Božovići in Zagrađe and Goražde, near Berane.[2]
  • Cikotići (6 families), descend from Cikotići in Trpezi.[3] Cikotići originally hail from Bjelopavlići and are related to the Eastern Orthodox Kljajići in Zagorje, near Berane.[4]
  • Talevići (5 families), related to Talevići in Trpezi. [5]
  • Tiganji (3 families), descend from Tiganji in neighboring Petnjica. [6]
