Sameer Tanti[edit]

Sameer Tanti born on 6th February 1955 at Behora tea estate in Karbi Anglong district of Assam. He is a modern Assamese poet whose poetry draws inspiration from common man's struggle. He was conferred 23rd Assam Valley Literary Award on 29th March 2013.

His grandparents migrated from Orissa to Assam to work in the tea gardens
