The chair sizes ranges from thimbles to table size and constructed from an array of material. "Chairs with a different purpose: Not for sitting. Multiple exhibits showcase the chairs with colorful background themes. The museum building, located in Stone Mountain, Georgia, is a renovated pre-civil war, craftsman style house, constructed in 1850. It survived the 1964 Civil War attack on Stone Mountain Village, by Sherman's army during the "March of the Sea" battle. The historic building sits on Georgia red dirt and is supported by original granite and wood posts. Granite quarrying was an industry in Stone Mountain until 1978. There is a history of only four ownership of the building. Initially, the railroad deeded the property in 1840, later it was owned by Jean Roach on 4/25/86, Eagleware Corporation on December 30, 1993, and currently, Barbara Hartsfield, on June 7, 2006.
