I'm in a Hurry (And Don't Know Why) is a country song by the band Alabama from their 1992 album American Pride. The song hit number one in the US on the Hot Country Singles chart.
Lyrics[edit]
The song is about someone who seems to feel the need to rush all the time, while in retrospect they realize how it is not often necessary. "All I really gotta do is live and die/ But I'm in a hurry and don't know why." The narrator tells that his preoccupation has taken away from his quality of life. "I'm in a hurry to get things done/ Oh I rush and rush until life's no fun."
Music video[edit]
The music video takes place in the desert, often showing the band playing alone on a stage with nobody in attendance. It also shows footage of people at a gas station in the desert at which several people stop and seem to be in a hurry.
