I'm Amy Wotawa. I grew up in Alabama where I earned my BS in cell & molecular biology from Troy University. Now, I reside Tennessee with my husband, Joe, and my pug, Brutus. I am a cytogenetics technologist working as the Cytogenetics team lead at a diagnostics laboratory specializing in hematologic cancers. Prior to working there, I undertook some graduate studies at Vanderbilt University focusing on human genetics. I also participated in summer research internships in human disease genetics and developmental genetics at Vanderbilt University and NC State University, respectively. I'm currently enrolled in my second semester as a Master's in Biotechnology degree candidate at the Johns Hopkins University. I'm seeking to build upon the strong foundation I already have in cell and molecular biology to deepen my knowledge of the field as well as propel me forward in my career.
