History

[edit]

Formation (2011)

[edit]

Awake At Last was formed March 2011 by Vincent Torres and Jesse Keim. The band, however, didn’t get their start until May 2011. Jesse and Vincent "were friends throughout school and were brought back together by a mutual friend"[1], and a mutual passion for music. Shortly after reconnecting the two decided to get together and play music and see if [they] could come up with something.[2]The line up became complete when they invited lead guitarist Eric Blackway, and bassist Pat Thompson to join the band. With a full roster the group began to turn a lot of heads in their local scene quickly building up a fan base.

In August of 2011 Awake At Last announced the arrival of bassist Estil Holliday and together they met with producer Will Donnelly in MD-based Oceanic Recording Studios [Life On Repeat, Sky Eats Airplane, Of Legends, Periphery] to record their self-titled five song EP, Awake At Last.[3]Awake At Last was released September 27, 2011 on BandCamp. [4] In March 2012 the group welcomed its new bassist Mike Hurley and announced it’s first nationwide, and month long, tour to California and back. While on the road they played The Heart of Texas Rockfest and Launch Music Festival, sharing the stage with such acts as Glass Cloud and Lions Lions (Century Media Records).

Mansion Of Memories (2012)

[edit]

Late July 2012, Awake At Last welcomed Bryan Mills as their new drummer, and re-welcomed Estil Holliday as their bassist. However, in September, Estil Holliday left the band and Stephen Ciccalione joined on bass, and with the rest of the band began the writing and recording of their second EP, Mansion Of Memories. Mansion Of Memories was produced and mixed by producer, Evan Myers [A Caffeine Dream, Willpowerless[5]] and released on December 25, 2012 on BandCamp

Let It Out, Back To Texas Tour, Warped Tour (2013-Current)

[edit]

In January 2013 the band had found a new member, bassist Tyler Greene, and in late January the band went into the studio with their producer Evan Myers to record their new single “Let It Out”. Throughout January the band continued to play shows up and down the east coast with their new member line up, playing old songs, as well as songs off of Mansion Of Memories. In March a new website was announced as well as an east coast tour.
