Who am I?

Obviously, I am not a person of any particular stature, fame (my paternal uncle Seyed E. Hasnain is, however), or notoriety, but I would like Wikipedia readers to know just who exactly is one of the many individuals that are helping to cite, revise, and or write material on the "wikisphere." As a reader, I hope you do not find such a post as a demonstration of narcissism, but rather my aspiration to supplement the mystique of anonymity with an added layer of credibility.

My name is Asif Syed Zaman (Urdu: آصف سید زمان, Hindi: आसिफ सैयद जमान). I was born on Election Day, the third of November in 1987 in Flushing, Queens. I am a second-generation American, the son of Muslim immigrants from Bihar in North India. I currently work as a substitute teacher in Queens and Brooklyn. I have a Master's Degree in History (with a concentration in South Asia, 1700-1900) that I received from the City University of New York at Queens College in May 2011. I currently live in Great Neck in Nassau County, a town just outside New York City, and I periodically contribute to Wikipedia.
