Founded by Mr. Frank Anthony on Dec. 22, 1967, the Frank Anthony Public School believes in treating each student as an individual entity who needs to be nurtured and moulded with care, to be groomed to become responsible citizens. The students are encouraged to define their own destinies and uphold the school motto – “Courage is Destiny”.

The school officially opened on the 9th of January, 1967 and is designed to the latest educational standards. It is established, owned and administered by the All-India Anglo-Indian Education Institution, New Delhi, registered under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It is also affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.

The school is divided into three sections i.e., the Nursery Section, the Junior Section and the Senior Section. Each class has three sections in the Junior school and the Senior school has four sections.

FAPS is famously known for avoiding donations of any kind, providing equal opportunity to students of all backgrounds.

The close student-teacher relationship is cherished by all students. Inside and outside the classrooms, teachers fulfill their roles of not only mentors, but also as counselors.

Facilities

FAPS has a Dual library system. One is the General Library and the other is at the class level. They are well equipped with reference books, encyclopaedias, magazines, novels, etc. Various teaching aids are bifurcated into sections like Audio-visual Section, Projector, TV.

The school has a large playground where sports like cricket, football, hockey and other field sports can be played. Basketball, throwball and volleyball courts are also available. In academics there are many labs for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Departments

Kannada

The school has encouraged Kannada, the regional language as a second and third language since the late 1960's. Kannada as a seond language is taught until the 8th standard, whereas the second language continues until the 10th standard. Prominent teachers such as Shantha Joseph, Renuka, Satyavathi Seetaramaiah and Sudha Nanjudaiah have built up the Kannada department in the school, from its small beginnings as a special class in the basement.

Every year a prestigious intra-school tournament, Tri-Faps is conducted in the one of the 3 Frank Anthony Public Schools across the country.
