User:Altamel/List of vetoes overridden in the United States

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In the United States, each of the fifty state legislatures has the power to override vetoes issued by the governor of the state. The requirements for overriding a veto vary from state to state. In addition, Congress has the power to override vetoes issued by the President of the United States with a 23 vote in both the House and Senate. Overriding a veto enacts a bill into law over the objections of the executive authority. The following is a list of vetoes overridden by Congress or the state legislatures.
