Tiberio Timperi (​Rome​​, 19 October​ 1964​) ​​is ​an​ ​Italian ​journalist​ and ​​radio​​ and television host.


Biography[edit]

His career began in 1977, at Radio Mare Cesenatico. From 1977 to 1983 he ​was ​at the microphone of several private radio stations including Punto Radio (​Florence​) and Radio Centro Suono (​Rome​​). In the same years he was among the animators of one of the first national radio networks "Radio In" and of the syndication "Top Italia Radio". Between 1983 and 1987 he hosted the radio show DJ Jolly of Raistereouno, Radio Due Hit Parade, Raistereo Due "FM Musica".[1] He is present in the audience in the episode of Discoring of January 3, 1982. In 1986 he made his debut on television in the conduct of the news of the Roman broadcaster Tele Regione. Later he moved to Telemontecarlo. In the Monegasque broadcaster he becomes a professional journalist. As an anchor man, he is at the helm of the nightly edition of the news, conducting, in parallel, in-depth medical (When there is health), scientific (Galileo) and the engines section.

Among the news specials, the one dedicated to the Gulf War.In 1991 he moved to Mediaset (Fininvest at the time), where he worked on TG4 and Studio Aperto; Subsequently, to his journalistic career he joins that of host of entertainment broadcasts: he leads the game show Lingo on Canale 5, "Buonasera con" on Rete 4 alongside Amanda Lear and Cuori d'oro together with Enrica Bonaccorti. In 1997 Timperi returned to Rai: for 14 years (except for the 2004-2005 edition) he conducted, with various partners, the weekend shows of Rai 2 Mezzogiorno in famiglia and Mattina in famiglia. In 2001 he also hosted, together with Ela Weber and Daniela Battizzocco, the summer program of Rai 1 Sette per uno.The passion for radio led him to RAI in 1998 to conduct Il buongiorno on Radio2, in 2005 Sabato sport on Radio1 and in 2007 Lasciamoci così, again on Radio1, finally Il fiore e il oglio in 2009 again on Radio1, with the theme song Ho rimasto, a song by Don Backy from 1963. In the 2007-2008 season he was host and author of Prima di tutti, a daily magazine broadcast on R101, a radio of the Mondadori group. To his credit the collaborations with Ruoteclassiche (Domus) Autooggi (Mondadori), Gente Motori (Rusconi-Hachette), Diva and Donna, Visto. As an actor, Timperi starred in the film Le faremo tanto male (1998), in the short film Toilette (1999), in the soap opera Ricominciare (2000-2001) and in the television series Amiche (2004) and Incantesimo (2005).

He participated as the protagonist of the episode in the television series La squadra, Un posto al sole and in the role of himself in Un medico in Famiglia. In 2004 he wrote the book Ci savete facto caso? for the Eri. In 2008, Amarsi sempre! Sposarsi? with M. Sabatini, published by Armando Curcio Editore. Two years later, for Longanesi, the novel "Nei tuoi Occhi di bambino". In 2009 he returns to conduct, after ten years of absence, Il lotto alle otto on Rai 2 together with Stefania Orlando.Starting from 10 September 2011 it has been on air with Unomattina in Famiglia (program born from the crossing between Unomattina and Mattina in famiglia) on Rai 1 together with various partners over the course of the multiple editions. From January 2nd, 2012 to February 17th, 2012 he replaced Veronica Maya (absent because she was pregnant) at the conduction of the court Verdetto Finale in the early afternoon of Rai 1 (14:10-15:15) setting the audience record. Il 7 febbraio 2012 ha condotto su Rai 1 la puntata pilota del nuovo programma di prima serata intitolato Socrate - Il merito in tv. From November 2012 to March 2014, Timperi is the author and host of the rotogravure of Rai Premium Italian actors and stars. From 30 April 2014 until the end of the season (30 May 2014), Timperi returns to the conduction of Final Verdict once again taking over from Veronica Maya: despite the insistence of the management of the RAI networks, Timperi refuses[2] (to avoid neglecting his son[2]) to conduct the 2014-2015 edition of the court[2] (which then passed[3] to Monica Leofreddi) preferring[2]therefore conducting only the new season of Unomattina in Famiglia[2]. In the 2015-2016 season he leads on Raiuno "Sabato In" with Ingrid Muccitelli. In 2016 he returned to Radio 2 to conduct Hitstory, with the collaboration of the music critic Dario Salvatori. In July 2017, again on Rai Radio 2, he hosted the summer version of '' Radio 2 Come Voi '' together with Angela Rafanelli. Since September 2018 he has been hosting La vita in diretta in place of Marco Liorni, assisted by Francesca Fialdini. For the first time after five editions, ratings are growing again, both he and Fialdini will not be confirmed in the following season. From September 2019 Timperi returns to the management of Unomattina in famiglia, together with Monica Setta.

Disputes[edit]

In 1998 he received a one-year suspension from the Order of Journalists of Lazio for participating in commercial advertising, an activity prohibited by the code of ethics[4] In 2009 he received the sanction of expulsion from the professional association for having again participated in an advertisement as a testimonial. He filed an appeal against this decision, which was accepted and reinstated in the register of journalists.[5]

On October 18, 2014, in an episode of Uno Mattina in famiglia, a recorded launch is sent by mistake, twice, in which the host, after making a mistake in the announcement of a guest, slams his hand on the table and he utters a curse in a low voice, for which he apologised the next day. Four years later, a definitive sentence by the Lazio TAR condemns Rai to pay a fine of 25,000 euros for the violation of art. 34 of the legislative decree 31 July 2005 n. 177[6] in relation to the provisions of the TV and Minors Self-regulation Code.[7]
