The Stenoblauch Symbiosis (S.S.) is a forum dependent contagious event that was first isolated and described by notable philanthropist Professor Emeritus Joe Fugazzeta acting on a hypothesis forwarded by Dr. Siegfried Leslie XXIII (primarily known for diagnosing the entire Argentine population with grandiose delusions). Research into the symbiosis is continuing but while the phenomenon is observable, little is currently known about its origins, modes of replication nor agents of transmission.

The Stenoblauch Symbiosis describes an obligate symbiotic relationship wherein two specific otherwise benign organisms (referred to as aah-h013 and randr01D) are mutually drawn into a negative oscillation feedback loop known as a vortex bucket. It is believed the organisms are unable to survive for long periods in fora alone without periodic mutual waste discharge and ingestion of the fraternal organism's excreta from the vortex bucket. It is not known whether the stimulus for the intialisation of the vortex bucket derives from subtle changes in the organism, the ecosystem or the behaviour of other organisms.

It is hypothesised that a tertiary parasitic conjoint relationship is possible in the vortex bucket (known as a clusterfusion) with an organism that does not exist in official nomenclature but which is currently being referred to as chee53.

The symbiosis is currently thought to be isolated to the Southern Cone.

Discovery

Whilst working on an unrelated investigation involving the extraction of red blood cells from igneous rock samples Professor Fugazzeta noticed a series of behavioural patterns in a forum rich in organic life forms which he had been monitoring in his spare time. Recalling something his friend and colleague Dr. Leslie XXIII had mentioned to him at his trailer park lab late one night he initiated a series of experiments which involved subjecting the aah-h013 and randr01D organisms to a regimen of controlled stimulii and recording the results. Within a matter of minutes he had discovered the two organisms had a symbiotic relationship and with further tests intiating numerous vortex buckets though artificial stimulation he would conclude that long term survival outside of the vortex bucket was essentially impossible for either organism.

Secondary Effects

While the Stenoblauch Symbiosis is strictly considered a service-service relationship the phenomenon has a number of deleterious secondary effects on the forum ecosystem and other organisms. In a contagion scenario the vortex bucket expands to envelope unrelated organisms (known as Xpa+s) the expansion occurs in a series of multi-layered discharges of particles in three dimensional Brownian motion referred to as a sheetstorm. Some infected Xpa+s have been found to mimic the malignant behaviour of the symbiotic entities thus increasing the intensity of the sheetstorm whilst others have been observed to fall into a state of apathy (logging out) thus acclerating entropic force and ultimately rendering the entire environment defenceless against the sheetstorm and toxic to other organisms.

Anthropogenic Theory

The Anthropogenic theory was first put forward by Dr. Stradivarius Pauper at Riachuelo Laboratories. A polymath and songwiter of some renown he combined his studies of the S.S. phenomena with his decades long research into the Huemul Project (a secret project allegedly proposed by the Austrian scientist Ronald Richter to the government of Argentina during the first presidency of Juan Domingo Perón).

It was initialy hypothesised that the phenomenon had its origins in forum organism contact with previously untouched deposits of ennui. Dr. Pauper, however, obtained classified documents which indicated that the purported studies into nuclear fusion on Huemul Island were actually a cover for studies into a biological agent that could be deliberately deployed in a forum environment against Xpa+s. He hypothesised that a release of a catalyst to enable the first vortex bucket was linked to a quantity he described as the Godwin count which he measured with a device known as an ejcot.

Dr. Pauper's unorthodox investigations into S.S. transmission through XOOM portals and a bizarre attempt to find a cure through an allegedly coded message in a series of dates supplied to him by confidence trickster Santiago Vera Sañudo and interpreted by a mystic known only as LBB are often cited to discredit his anthropogenic theory.

Second Stage

Unable to explain a new pattern of Xpa+ behaviour Dr. Pauper proposed a second stage of post-sheetstorm infection, after dreaming of an Xpa+ eating its own tail. In this stage the Xpa+ population is observed consuming itself independent of the sheetstorm. A classic indicator of second stage S.S. is the observance of rampant abuse of basic forum etiquette.
