Bibliography
[edit]This is where you will compile the bibliography for your Wikipedia assignment. Add the name and/or notes about what each source covers, then use the "Cite" button to generate the citation for that source.
- https://search.credoreference.com/content/entry/sageeas/nursing/0 "Nursing" entry from The SAGE Encyclopedia of economics and Society. This source will be good for the history and profession for this topic. I can look at its information and compare it to what is already on the Wikipedia page.
- https://journals.lww.com/nursing/fulltext/2013/10000/patient_education_tips_for_new_nurses.24.aspx This is a journal article called "Patient-Education Tips for New Nurses". The section on this topic is very small in the Wikipedia article. I can read through this source and add more information to that section in the article.
- https://www.britannica.com/science/nursing This is another source called "nursing". I can read it and compare the information from both articles and possible look at new sources to add to the Wikipedia article.
- https://nurseslabs.com/florence-nightingales-environmental-theory/#:~:text=Florence%20Nightingale's%20Environmental%20Theory%20defined,soldiers%20during%20the%20Crimean%20War This is a source about Florence Nightingale. I can use this to add more information about her and what she contributed to nursing.
- https://www.cerner.com/ae/en/blog/the-role-of-nurses-in-our-society-today This is an article talking about what nurses do today. I think I could include this in the article because it talks about the history and some may want to learn about today as well.
- https://nursing.usc.edu/blog/correctional-nurse-career/ can use for correctional nursing section of article
Proposal
[edit]For this article, I think that I can add more information to the "patient education" section of this article. There is only a few sentences that really doesn't explain what this is but, I think the section needs to be larger and I can provide that information. I could take a big step and add a new section called the 21st century. The writer has 19th, and 20th, but doesn't talk about what nurses due in the 21st century. I can use the article I found online to provide information about that as well at the SAGE encyclopedia. I would be more comfortable with adding smaller details like using the source I found about Florence Nightingale and just include a few more sentences about her and what she contributed to the nursing society. I would like to use these articles and read though the Wikipedia page and when I find something that needs added or changed I can do that with the sources I found. I am not sure what specifically I will change yet but while I am reading all of these sources again it will pop out. I know that this assignment says to specific examples so here is just a few. I will use my first source and add deeper information on "theory and process". I can use my third source as a comparison. It has the same setup as the wikipedia article So I can compare and contrast the information. I can come up with more specific example of what I can add or change in the future, but those are the ones that stood out to me now.
