History[edit]

Buffalo Wild Wings was founded in 1981 after James Disbrow, then living in Buffalo, New York, came to Kent, Ohio to judge an amateur rodeo competition at Kent State University in 1981. He met up with his friend, Scott Lowery, and went looking for a place to get authentic Buffalo-style chicken wings.[2] Unable to find one that served authentic wings anywhere, they decided to open up their own restaurant, first in Columbus, Ohio, and then in Westerville, Ohio one year later. The original location itself closed on November 19, 2006. Originally called Buffalo Wild Wings & Weck, from which the abbreviation BW3 was created, the restaurant became a franchise; as of December 27, 2009, it had 652 locations (232 directly owned by the company, and 420 franchised locations) across 42 U.S. states.[3] The corporate headquarters was located upstairs from their location in Clifton, Cincinnati for several years before moving to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Franchise's are open everywhere in the United States. The owner of the JRW corp, which is a group of four franchise stores is James Womack, the four stores are located in southeast Michigan in the citys of Westland, Michigan, Ypsilanti, Michigan, Dearborn, Michigan, and Howell, Michgan.

He instills in the trust of management ran by Doug Blair and others to keep the store up to his standards as he cannot be in all four stores, all the time. And the JRW corp franchise is the largest growing in profit increase across the nation. The managment of the four stores control what specials are being ran there, and what beverages are offered.
