Zhou Chengzhou (周承舟; born 28 December 1982) is a Chinese film director, Artist and photographer,[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12][13] based in Beijing. He has devoted to the artistic film creation of spiritual ideology.[14][15]
Biography
[edit]Zhou Chengzhou was born in Changde city (常德) in Hunan (湖南) Province in Dec. 1982.[5]
During his creative years, He is mainly engaged in artistic creation and research in the field of spiritual consciousness. His works also combine the views of industry, urbanization, and marginalization. At the same time, he also focuses on the alienation between people and a broader and homogenized culture.[4][14]
His work was selected in Aesthetica Art Prize 2019[2] and Lensculture Art photography award 2018.[16] He won the 1x photo awards 2017/18.[17]
Filmmaking career
[edit]His first film, Sub-subconscious, was released in 2020 and won Best Experimental Short[18] and Best First Time Director at the Independent Shorts Awards.[19] It was Nominated by Adirondack Film Festival,[15] LA Underground Film Forum[20] and Jelly Film Festival.[21] He completed his second film, Unreflex Land, in 2021.[22]
