Yasuhiro ASAI（浅井康宏,Asai Yasuhiro,born 9 June 1983）is a Japanese lacquerware artist and maki-e artisan. Born in Tottori Prefecture[1], Japan

Biography[edit]

Born on June 9[2],1983. Became interested in urushi and maki-e while studying at Kibi Kogen High School[3]. 2004,graduated from Takaoka National College,Department of Industrial Design,Lacquerware Course.2005,studied under Kazumi MUROSE(Designated as Important Intangible Cultural Property). 2007,became independent. Based in Kyoto City(since June 2017). Member of Urushiko Shigaku Gakkai(History of Lacquerware Association), Nihon Bunkazai Urushi Kyokai(Japan Association for Cultural Property Lacquer),Japan Art Craft Association[4]
