2007 resignation list[edit]

Is there not a 2007 resignation list?Traditional unionist (talk) 22:57, 22 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No. See this story. Essentially, it seems that it was felt to be too much of a PR liability. I imagine that many of those who would otherwise have been on such a list were subsequently honoured, however.

Splitting large pages[edit]

A conversation at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_New_Zealand has pointed out thta some of these pages are getting very long and there has been a suggestion to split these by Country (or psuedo-country, Niue for example might be included in the New Zealand list). This could be done on a page-by-page basis or systematically, but would result in changes to the template. Thoughts? Stuartyeates (talk) 20:13, 3 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Template size[edit]

This template is getting really huge - I'm about to add at least 10 more years to Birthday and New Year Honours. Should we think about splitting off Birthday/New Years into separate templates and stacking them? Pinging @Schwede66, Stuartyeates, and Paora: МандичкаYO 😜 17:29, 28 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2017/18 Dissolution Honours?[edit]

While Theresa May said last year she would make no Dissolution Honours, the new list of ten peers and a knight was referred to in Monday's Lords Hansard by a Government spokesman as "the smallest Dissolution Honours List since 1979"...so has this decision been revisited?12.144.5.2 (talk) 08:37, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

2019 Dissolution Honours?[edit]

Will there be a list shortly?...or a declaration that there will be none?--12.144.5.2 (talk) 22:43, 28 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestions for Sections[edit]

This is a brilliant template and really useful. Linking-in with template size someone mentioned above and thinking about what this might look like in 5, 10/20 years time, I don't see a problem with size but I wondered if there was a way of creating more sections for distinct categories of honours. I hope noone will object if I create a separate sections for 'Jubilee Honours' (more to come in future presumably) and one for 'Political Honours' (how many more to come in the future?) and one for 'Demise Honours'. That will leave only a couple of 'Additional'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Party per Fez (talkcontribs) 09:18, 10 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Platinum Jubilee Honours list[edit]

Is it premature to state that the 2022 Platinum Jubilee Honours list was "not issued"? The 2012 Jubilee Honours weren't issued until September, a fair stretch after the celebrations themselves, could the same be true of this year's? Obviously there is the slight confusion of the death of the Queen, and a potential Demise Honours list, but until there's an announcement saying there definitely won't be a list issued we should probably leave it. OGBC1992 (talk) 09:55, 9 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for this - I forgot to mention it here before I added it to the template. I emphasise that no disrespect intended in any way. I agree that mentioning it may be premature - but what is the best solution? Following the precedents of all the previous jubilees, we might have been expecting a Platinum Jubilee Honours list at some point during 2022 - then again not necessarily. And I know no more than anyone else whether one is/was intended. Perhaps there were not plans for one. Either way, at the moment, in the same way the template has other 'not issued' honours (for whetever reason, like Second World War), I thought it best to add it as currently 'not issued'. If one is released later then this template can be quickly updated with the page link. If it's turned into a Demise honours (usually for consorts though) then it can be quickly updated on the page. If one is never released, then it would still need to be added as 'not issued'. But I thought it was important to add the 2022 Jubilee Honours list to the template whether or not it ever exists as a separate page. if that is incorrect then I apologise. 2023 Coronation Honours[edit]

Hello all, this afternoon I received an email from the Australian Honours Secretariate stating that both they and the UK's Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood have chosen not to issue a Coronations Honours list this year, instead they will go ahead with the Birthday Honours. Of course happy to forward on the email to anyone interested, but the following is a copy and paste of the email.

"Thank you for your email concerning the upcoming June 2023 honours list title.
The previous Coronation Honour Lists (gazettal and announcement) were part of the British Imperial System. Since 1975, the Australian Honours System was implemented and has continued with Australia Day and (Sovereign) Birthday honours lists.
The Australian Honours and Awards Secretariat has raised the matter, and sought feedback, from our colleagues at the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood, London. They have advised that at this stage their intention is to release a King’s Birthday Honours List in 2023.
Following this, the Secretariat will also title the upcoming 2023 honours list as ‘The King’s Birthday Honours List 2023’.
Kind regards

At least this gives us a clear picture of what to and what not to expect. Nford24 (PE121 Personnel Request Form) 05:37, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There will be a UK Coronation medal. Seehttps://www.gov.uk/government/news/coronation-medal-to-go-to-armed-forces-and-frontline-emergency-service-workers — Preceding unsigned comment added by TShape12 (talkcontribs) 06:08, 5 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That's a different thing from a Coronation Honours List, which concerns orders of chivalry, peerages and decorations. 98.228.137.44 (talk) 01:00, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

2023 Coronation Honours List[edit]

There is a notation against the 2023 Coronation Honours List that this list was not issued, which is accurate. However, some odd 20 individuals were so honoured as a part of the 2024 New Year Honours (typically under the citation: "on the occasion of the Coronation of Their Majesties The King and The Queen."). Perhaps a new notation can be added against the 2023 Coronation Honours List? IHGSA52859 (talk) 05:45, 6 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the "† Not issued" note in the coronation honours section, since the 2024 New Year Honours included awards to people who worked in conjunction with the coronation, please change the note to "† Not issued because of New Year Honours (2024)" 98.228.137.44 (talk) 00:59, 13 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
