Template Protected Edit Request

[edit]

A showrunner parameter needs added to this Infobox per this discussion. Here's the sandbox diff where it was added and the testcase page where it worked. The sandbox just needs synced to the live template. TheDoctorWho (talk) 18:30, 20 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additional edit

[edit]

Per this dsicussion, showrunner needs to be pluralized if there are multiple on the series.

Changing label2 = Showrunner to label2 = Showrunner{{Pluralize from text|{{{showrunner|}}}|plural=s}} will take care of it automatically (minus the nowiki tags if looking at this in source editor).

Here's the sandbox edit and the corresponding testcase edit where it worked. TheDoctorWho (talk) 03:39, 22 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A property in Wikidata has been created for show-runner P12795, could that be included? [1] Back ache (talk) 14:49, 6 June 2024 (UTC) Back ache (talk) 14:49, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No, this infobox does not support such data from Wikidata. Gonnym (talk) 14:58, 6 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding other "producer" entries

[edit]

Since the producer credits don't change in the course of its current season (most of whom are pay scaled writing staff), I was thinking what if we add a production section category on the bottom part of the template with entries for "executive producer", "co-executive producer", "supervising producer", "producer", and "co-producer"? 2600:1700:B331:50F0:C9F3:119E:1837:833 (talk) 19:15, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

We don't need a bunch of extra entries on the infobox when they can be in prose format under the Production section on the body. This has been discussed in the past before over by Template talk:Infobox television/Archive 10#Proposal to add parameters for co-executive producer, supervising producer, and co-producer.YoungForever(talk) 22:00, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Anyone who isn't an "executive producer" credit is not "prominent" enough to justify inclusion in the infobox, especially for a season one. And as noted, many of these credits are the writers so they are noted appropriately elsewhere in the article. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 22:54, 30 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Help with issue.

[edit]

Hi. I am currently editing the draft for Studio 54: American Crime Story. The infobox keeps saying "Season 54", when that isn't the season number, and I didn't right that in anywhere. It also auto-fills "Studio 54: American Crime Story" in as the next season. I don't know how to fix this. It would be great if someone could help me fix this issue. Thanks Mjks28 (talk) 12:10, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed the infobox there for now. I'll need to spend them and rework the module with a few fixes that are needed after the season naming style change. Gonnym (talk) 12:36, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Would you be able to remove season number parameter from the infobox entirely for this page? The season is from an anthology series, where each season has its own title. Everytime I try to remove it, it just defaults back to "Season 54". Sorry, I should have specified the problem earlier. Mjks28 (talk) 13:18, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it is the 4th season of the series, so it isn't incorrect. No idea if I'll handle this exception or not, it depends if it requires other changes, which I don't really want to touch. Gonnym (talk) 13:21, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I understand, I'm just following how other anthology seasons that use titles rather than season numbers format their articles, such as the other seasons of American Crime Story, as well as American Horror Story and Monster.
You can see some examples of them not using the season number here: Impeachment: American Crime Story, American Horror Story: NYC, Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story, American Horror Story: Delicate. Mjks28 (talk) 13:27, 19 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
