Template:2013 MLL standingsMajor League Lacrosse standings – Generally most sports pages are spelled out such as season years to reduce any possible confusion. Also removing 2013 will help make this template sustainable for years to come and not only limit it to the 2013 season. Bes2224 (talk) 14:11, 4 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • comment do you want to change this into an article? -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 05:50, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment this template is only transcluded into 2013 season articles, so removing the 2013 will do nothing, since this should only contain the 2013 standings. It makes no sense to have 2014 standings in the 2013 season articles. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 05:56, 6 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    • CommentYou're right. That was a moment of stupidity on my part... On the other hand, there is no reason to have a template page for one season of standings. So wouldn't getting rid of the template make more sense? I don't see the point in creating a template when the standard way of doing standings is creating a table coded on the season page. • Comment there are alot of season standings templates for other sports for every recent season of their various leagues. There's no WikiProject Lacrosse to ask, so you might want to post a notice to WP:SPORTS about whether or not a season standings template for particular seasons (as opposed to the current season) would be reasonable. A current season template would be one that is placed on the team articles and league article. If each season has a standings template, then the current season template would just be a redirect to the latest season X template. If each season does not have a template, then you'd need to remember to remove the template from season articles each time a new season starts, as you'll be removing the stats for that season on starting day. -- 76.65.128.222 (talk) 00:51, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose This page is transcluded on not only the 2013 MLL season page, but the 2013 season page for each team in the league. This is done so that each team's page for a particular season (plus the league's page) has the standings available, and the standings only need to be updated in one place as the season progresses. Once the season is over, I suppose you could get rid of the template and copy the code onto each of those pages, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort. --MrBoo (talk, contribs) 02:21, 11 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
