The first parameter corresponds to the text displayed between "but" and "free," defaulting to "they are."
The second parameter corresponds to the text color, defaulting to white.
The third parameter corresponds to the background color, defaulting to black.
The alt parameter, if present, changes the display of the word "free" to work better with a custom text color. See below.
Example usage
[edit]{{User cringe}} produces:

{{User cringe|she is|#0ff}} produces:
