Usage

This replicates an #if: check, but strips periods/full dots from the arguments.

{{Dot-equivalent|STRING1|STRING2|OUTPUT IF SAME|OUTPUT IF DIFFERENT}}

For instance

{{Dot-equivalent|Appl. Phys. Lett.|Appl Phys Lett|Same|Different}}

gives

Same

while

{{Dot-equivalent|Appl. Phys. Lett.|ApplPhysLett|Same|Different}}

gives

Different
