I don't consider that ALT that interesting. There have only been 63 Miss USAs and there are 50 states plus the District of Columbia. If you want an alternative hook, how about the following?

Both main hook and ALT1 are interesting, but I find ALT2 unduly negative. The article meets most requirements, but two sections need sources, which I tagged in the article. -Zanhe (talk) 04:35, 20 June 2014 (UTC)

As someone who knows little about beauty pageants, I do find it interesting that Nevada never had a Miss USA before.
