Langrigg[edit]

Langrigg

  • ... that Dolphin's family held Langrigg (pictured)?

5x expanded by Dr. Blofeld (talk), Nvvchar (talk), Rosiestep (talk). Nominated by Rosiestep (talk) at 03:14, 19 October 2013 (UTC).

5x expansion & length pass - from 44chrs stub on 15 Oct to just under 3000chrs exc refs etc
QPQ completed
First Hook fact is in article with AGF to paper source.
ALT-1 Hook fact is in article + verified by source. Source is WP:SPS by Morrisons but they should know where they buy their eggs!
Citations - plenty of, and well laid out reference section with a good range of sources
Hooks - both comply on format. First hook is a bit confusing without being a tease, so prefer alt-1, but suggest that it needs contextualising for a global audience (eg "the UK's Morrisons supermarket?") as readers in Australia or India for example won't have heard of either Langrigg or Morrisons
Hook image - in article & correctly licensed (cc-by-sa-2.0) but while a nice picture of the hall at full size, it's a bit vague at 100px in my humble opinion, best promoted without the image
Overall, a nicely written, well referenced article, a vast improvement on the stub it replaces
Only two queries - First, I assume "2s $d" should read "2s 4d" = please check with your offline source and edit; second, I am a bit concerned by the number of redlinks, in particular that 2 of them relate to named persons, per policy at WP:REDYES and WP:REDNOT. Please can these either be removed, or justified (here or on the article talk) with an indication of the notability of the proposed target article, and the likelihood of said article being created. The one to Crofthead produces a search result weighed heavily in favour of a location in Scotland rather than a mineral, so could cause a future ambiguation problem (unless a suitable geological stub is created instead). The one to Langrigg Hall if ever created would most likely be only justifiable as a redirect to this page which would create a circular redirect, suggest a redirect is created with Langrigg as a target, and the redlink replaced by bold text. • Thank you for the review. I changed "2s $d" to "2s 4d"; and I removed the redlinks as we don't have plans to create articles for them in the immediate future. Yes, the original hook is a tease. :) Incorporating the suggestion for ALT1, though, here's ALT2:
  • ALT2: ... that Langrigg Hall Farm produces free range eggs for the UK's Morrisons supermarket?

All concerns addressed, many thanks. ALT2 reviewed, and good to go. Baldy Bill (sharpen the razor|see my reflection) 23:55, 20 October 2013 (UTC)
