Ichneumon eumerus[edit]

  • ... that Ichneumon eumerus is a specialist parasite of a rare butterfly, and will itself become extinct if the butterfly dies out?
    • ALT1:... that the parasitic wasp Ichneumon eumerus has a complex life cycle involving ants and a rare blue butterfly?
Source: "the Alcon blue has a nemesis, the Ichneumon eumerus wasp. When the wasp detects an Alcon caterpillar inside an ant colony, it charges inside and sprays a pheromone cocktail that makes the ants attack each other. "

  • Size (barely!) and date check out; interesting topic; hooks check out (would suggest ALT1 as it's more interesting and more clearly verified, unless the gbooks page-limit hides the explict association-of-extinction with ref 5); check indicates no apparent copyplag concerns; QPQ done. This should be good to go. - The Bushranger One ping only 23:19, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
