Hinduism in Los Angeles[edit]

Malibu Hindu Temple

  • Interesting hook, but the pipelink seems a bit misleading. I expected the link to go to a page on Hindu ceremonies, not something related to Los Angeles. Perhaps the hook could more directly address the article topic (namely, the Los Angeles aspect). The hook could include something like "was given a Hindu ceremony in Malibu." Tweaked, OK?♦ Dr. ☠ Blofeld 08:39, 4 July 2013 (UTC)

  • The tweak of the hook definitely works better, per the above recommendation. The article is long enough and new enough, well-written and well-sourced, and the image is also good to go! Great work! --Caponer (talk) 20:38, 4 July 2013 (UTC)
  • But the temple is not in the city of Los Angeles. An unqualified mention of "Los Angeles" almost always refers to the city, rather than the county, so this looks like misinformation. You probably don't want to pipe Hinduism in Los Angeles to the actual city, "Calabasas", but how about to either "Los Angeles County" or "the Los Angeles area"? • In that case the article title itself could be be changed to Los Angeles County if it is acceptable to you.--Nvvchar. 05:43, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Well, in looking at the article, I noticed that the Los Angeles Hindu Society is based in Pasadena. If the L.A. Hindu Society is not based in the city of L.A., then maybe the broader sense of L.A. to mean the greater L.A. area is more common than I thought. It's up to you, but I think it's probably not necessary to move the article. As for the hook, I'd still personally prefer it to be tweaked, but it's up to you. I've visited the Temple, and it seems odd to say it's in L.A. when I know that it's not in the city of L.A., but it is in the county/area, so the hook is technically correct. • That's fine with me. For the benefit of set preparers, I've reiterated Caponer's tick. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 20:13, 5 July 2013 (UTC)
