Gary Bennett (footballer, born 1961)[edit]

  • ALT1:... that association football player Gary Bennett was one of the first players to become involved with the Show Racism the Red Card campaign and was even included in the organisation's first film in 1996?

5x expanded by Kosack (talk). Self-nominated at 15:14, 14 June 2016 (UTC).

  • The article was expanded; it was originally around 100 words and is now around 700. It is written from a neutral POV. There are inline citaiton and the hook is cited. However, I think that the hook could be a little misleading. The article says that he plays football, meaning soccer. I think it would be better to say "association football" or "soccer" so that there is no confusion with American football. Also, the hook doesn't really highlight Bennett's accomplishments or life, just his daughter's. It might be nice to see a different hook that is focused more on his life. I've added an alternative that's more focused on the subject. Would this be more suitable @Amgisseman(BYU):?. Kosack (talk) 07:37, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
  • Kosack ALT1 looks good to me. I made minor edits and added an additional citation to the sentence that talked about the campaign so that the hook would be explicitly cited, and briefly mentioned the film since it was in your new hook. Article looks good to go! Amgisseman(BYU) (talk) 18:58, 16 June 2016 (UTC)
