Catholic University of Madagascar

[edit]

Created by Jgefd (talk). Self-nominated at 22:30, 11 June 2017 (UTC).

  • The article itself looks good. Plenty of content, created recently, and has adequate sources (although they're all in French, so I can't verify their reliability.) A few small concerns, though: A couple of the sources come from material published by the university itself. Also, the nominator hasn't done QPQ. Otherwise, this looks pretty good. --XenonNSMB (talk, contribs) 01:37, 12 June 2017 (UTC)
  • Hello, sorry it seems I responded on your talk page rather than the nomination. I completed QPQ a while ago now. Is the rest good? Jgefd (talk) 16:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
  • It has been over six weeks without a response, though a QPQ did appear on June 16. Jgefd, if you wish to pursue this nomination, please respond on this page to the concerns mentioned. Many thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 16:34, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
  • BlueMoonset: Again, I apologize but I responded on the reviewer's talk page as I wasn't sure he would see my response here. So the concerns are a couple self-published sources and French-language sources? Well, regarding the sources in French, I translated them with google translate but the sources I used were Malagasy newspapers and another was by an educational organization providing information on colleges in Madagascar. Several others came from French universities with academic partnerships with the university. Regarding the self-published source, I used the university website as a source for the history section. Although it wasn't optimal, there aren't as many good sources for Malagasy institutions as there are in the US. Jgefd (talk) 16:42, 24 July 2017 (UTC)
  • New reviewer needed to complete the review; previous reviewer has not returned. Thanks. BlueMoonset (talk) 22:48, 11 August 2017 (UTC)
Reviewed.Summary: The article is recent is above 1500 characters hook is hook but the article itself will need a lot of work with sourcing as most of it is from content published by university itself

 Done

 Not done

  1. Most of the article seems to be sourced from content published by university itself .Third party reliable sources are needed._RADICAL SODA(FORCE) 10:28, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
  • Forceradical: I've found all the sources that are out there, and I also don't speak French so I can't really do much more at this point. If you want to reject it for DYK at this point go ahead Jgefd (talk) 18:51, 12 August 2017 (UTC)
    • Third party reliable sources are not required. Third party sources are required to establish notability. They do not have to be used in the article itself. Hawkeye7 (talk) 01:17, 19 August 2017 (UTC)
  • This article was new enough when nominated and is long enough. The hook fact is cited to the University's own history, but it is not a controversial fact. The article is neutral and I detected no policy issues, though many of the sources are in French so Earwig is unhelpful. Good to go. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:14, 24 August 2017 (UTC)
