Allen Hall Theatre, Lisa Warrington
( Back to T:TDYK )
( Article history links: )
... that when Laurence Olivier and Vivien Leigh visited Allen Hall Theatre (pictured), the crowd spilled into the canteen?Source: "By 11.30 it appealed that the tardy would have no chance of admission, but the strength of newcomers and the apparent elasticity of the hall combined to pave the way for more and still more to crowd in. A large overflow was accommodated in the canteen, which was connected by a loud-speaker system" (from this newspaper article)- ALT1: ... that Lisa Warrington was responsible for painting the doors of Allen Hall Theatre (pictured) red? Source: "Associate Professor Warrington is also responsible for the theatre’s distinctive red door" (from this source)
- ALT2:
... that since 1977, Allen Hall Theatre (pictured) has hosted more than 1000 Lunchtime Theatre performances?Source: "Originally conceived in 1977 as means of encouraging dramatic activity on campus, Lunchtime Theatre has seen over 1,000 productions in its time. " (from this source)
- Comment: I will complete a QPQ within the next week (or two QPQs if the hook linking the Lisa Warrington article is used).

- I've just had a read of this article (Allen Hall Theatre). I shall give it a formal review. Schwede66 08:12, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- Allen Hall Theatre: It's new enough and long enough. Suitably referenced. It's within policy and Earwig shows a low 2.9%. ALT0 checks out fine. ALT2 is also fine. The photo is suitably licensed. With regards to the Lisa Warrington bio, this is also a new article. Plenty long enough. I'm not sure why the database is italicised (if that's a done thing, please let me know where it says so – I'm keen to learn). "Samoan" needs to be disambiguated. The person's DOB is unreferenced and will either have to be removed or a reference provided (I see that ref 1 provides the year of birth but it does not state her year of birth outside of the lead). I've placed citation needed tags. "from 1984–2014" – please make MOS-compliant to read "from 1984 to 2014". The "See also" section will need to be removed as per MOS:NOTSEEALSO. I've edited all hooks as per DYK requirements. Earwig is reasonably happy but I suggest that "with a cast of students from Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School" could be reworded as it's not necessary to have the sentence copied word-for-word. ALT1 checks out. As it's said in the nomination, QPQs are outstanding. I've removed

from the code as this user has not edited the bio. Schwede66 09:04, 16 July 2021 (UTC)
- Schwede66, thanks for the review. Apologies for the slow response, it seems alongside not getting WikiProjectNZ notifications I'm also not getting DYK ones, sigh. Anyway, I have removed the database name italics, Samoan has been disambiguated by another editor already. I've put Warrington's birth date in the first paragraph as well as the lead, and changed it to just year of birth (which I'm always much more comfortable with in living person bios anyway). I added a source for year of promotion, thanks, and removed the second unsourced statement. I removed Allen Hall and Fortune Theatre from 'See also', but left Hilary Halba, as she is both relevant and not linked elsewhere on the page, but if there's a reason to take her out too let me know? Will get on with two QPQs and report back.DrThneed (talk) 08:01, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- DrThneed, that's great; thank you. All my concerns have been addressed. See also section is fine the way it's now (Halba isn't already linked in the article, hence ok). That leaves the QPQs. Please post when that's done and I shall sign off on ALT1. Schwede66 09:48, 23 July 2021 (UTC)
- Schwede66, have reviewed Isabelle Connor and George Webster, and will see them through to completion (not sure at what point it technically becomes a QPQ).
