Television Yamaguchi Broadcasting Systems (テレビ山口, abbreviated TYS, and branded on-air as tys) is a Japanese television broadcasting company serving Yamaguchi Prefecture. It is affiliated to the Japan News Network.

History[edit]

There has been a boom in applications for UHF TV stations throughout Japan since the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications opened up UHF frequencies for terrestrial TV broadcasting. In Yamaguchi Prefecture, nine companies (some include TV Yamaguchi, Yamaguchi Asahi Broadcasting, and Yamaguchi Mainichi Broadcasting) have applied for TV broadcasting licenses.[1]: 9
