Post Nov 2017[edit]

We should consider folding this into the Samuel Oschin Telescope article. --LucasBrown (talk) 08:37, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is also an article for the Palomar Transient Factory, the forerunner to this. Agmartin (talk) 17:02, 16 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

PTF vs ZTF[edit]

I just noticed that the Zwicky Transient Facility (ZTF), the successor of the Palomar Transient Factory (PTF) (Src), have both the same observatory code, namely I41. The current published MPC-obs.-code-version gives I41 Palomar Mountain--ZTF , while a few months ago the same list displayed I41 Palomar Mountain--PTF. This is rather confusing (keeping the same obs. code) as it leads to all kind of inconsistencies. However, it seems that both ZTF and PTF merit a dedicated article on wikipedia, and don't see a reason why either of them should be added to the Samuel Oschin Telescope article. Any thoughts on this? Anyone? Rfassbind – talk 21:37, 15 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone verify and add who it's named after?[edit]
