Speculation regarding the date of this election[edit]

Some date has been floated regarding the next Quebec general election. However, the only "firm" date we have as of today is October 3, 2016, although we know it will happen sooner than that, because of the present political situation. Premier Marois has the option of signing the writ, but she could also try to get tomorrow's budget passed by the National Assembly. For these reasons, the April 14 date mentioned in this article is speculation at this time. Wikipedia is not a newspaper. It publishes established facts.
