Reliable sources[edit]

Sir Maxim, I added some content on Justin Paul (Scholar page), however you removed. let me give you evidence of the journal, Inter j of consumer studies , which is now ranked as consumer research journal with the highest Impact Factor. se the cover page on top of this profile on Linkedin comparing the Impact Factor of consumer research journals [1]https://www.linkedin.com/in/profjust/ 103.161.55.202 (talk) 15:03, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please consider a discussion on the talk page, because the statements like "the highest impact factor in the world" should be backed up by better sources. Sorry for referring you to the rules, but could you please read them again carefully,
You may use URLs as links to support particular claims (information), as explained in the following Wikipedia guidelines:
  1. WP:LP - Biographies of living persons
  2. WP:RS - Reliable sources
  3. WP:CITE - Citing sources
  4. WP:OR - No original research
On the claim about a journal with highest impact factor in the world, the rules of WP:LP do not apply, but the rules of WP:RS and WP:CITE apply. For the overall information about people, more stricter rules, described in WP:LP apply. For the whole Wikipedia, WP:OR equally apply.
Feel free to contact me, should you have question. Maxim Masiutin (talk) 15:15, 4 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

please add this link as a Citation Reference for his Ph.D from University of Brighton, UK in his CAREER Section, Para 2

https://fae.uprrp.edu/egae/wp-content/uploads/sites/7/2023/09/BrightonCertificate.pdf

please add the following as Reference Citation Reference for the statement (currently, you have written about the need for Citation) - Proponent of Masstige Theory

https://justinpaul.uprrp.edu/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/EJIM-Masstige-car-published.pdf Mashteacher (talk) 01:37, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply! Can you add these references yourself, as anybody can edit Wikipedia. You can see Help:Referencing for beginners, hope it helps. Maxim Masiutin (talk) 01:53, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
For the PhD can you find a library record at U Brighton? (A scan like this is WP:PRIMARY, among other problems.) "Known as a proponent" would require someone other than Paul to write about how he is so known. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 07:56, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Please add a sentence in Justin Paul's profile: Career section[edit]

Justin Paul was conferred honorary titles as Distinguished Visiting Scholar by Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikkode and MS University, Tamil Nadu, India in 2019 and 2017 respectively.

Evidence / Citation Letters / certificates are available on these websites https://www.academia.edu/115649762/Confering_the_Title_Distinguished_Visiting_Scholar_IIM_

Not done. I have my doubts as to whether this belongs in the article, but certainly a self-published source does not suffice. Per WP:BLPSELFPUB, self-published sources can be used for routine facts, which this is not. Something like an honorary doctorate _can_ be sourced to e.g. a department newsletter in the hosting department (or similar webpage with editorial control by the department, school or university). Russ Woodroofe (talk) 20:52, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Russ, If you click on the weblinks given, you can see certificates issued by the respective universities as distinguished scholar / professor of eminence. Those information was already in his profile for last 2 years. Someone jealous seem to have deleted it. The weblinks given have certificates from the respective universities... can be considered as evidences if you scrutinize it They are not self-published. Jimsocial (talk) 22:56, 3 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If you wish to get another opinion, you can use the Edit Request template, and it will flag it for the attention of an uninvolved editor after some time. (I will leave it alone.) I don't think you're likely to convince any established Wikipedian to include this with the current sourcing. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 14:33, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Jimsocial: If you want to have this fact added, please give us a real citation that supports it. Such an award should be on those schools website's on in local newspapers. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:46, 4 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Those titles were given for limited number of years and it remained on the website, for certain number of years. After the term of the contract, the institutes updated the websites. therefore, not there on the website. Jimsocial (talk) 01:25, 5 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Russ, These websites of IIM Kozhikkode and other sites shows that Dr Justin Paul was given a title / was a Distinguished Scholar at IIM Kozhikkode.
https://researchblog.iimk.ac.in/?p=2486
Therefore, please include a sentence (which was there on his profile for 2 years).
Dr Paul was a Distinguished Visiting Scholar at IIM Kozhikkode, India. Mashteacher (talk) 19:09, 9 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Visiting positions generally don't belong in the article, with few exceptions. The honorary doctorate absolutely does belong in the article, IF it can be sourced to U Calcutta or similar. I did not succeed in doing so. If you can find such a source, please feel free to propose at talk page; as you have an apparent COI with Paul, you should not be editing the article directly. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 07:31, 10 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Russ, Uni of engineering and management did not have press release. But you can see this hon doctorate info on Dr Paul's profile on Uni of Puerto Rico profile of Dr Paul. Jimsocial (talk) 02:18, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Per WP:BLPSPS, we need better sourcing for this. An honorary doctorate is a significant honor, and in particular is a passing criteria for WP:NPROF. A scan posted to a user-generated page or a CV doesn't suffice. We can use a CV for routine career details, and not too much more. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 16:34, 13 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Could you help with - adding this sentence / info on Justin Paul's (scholar) profile[edit]

can you add this sentence with the citations below -

During 2018-19, Dr Paul served as a faculty member with the Rollins College, Orlando- Florida, in the United States. He moved to Florida due to the serious problems caused by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico in 2017. Citation 1: https://www.rollins.edu/provost/documents/Faculty%20list%202018-2019.pdf

citation 2 https://go.activecalendar.com/rollins/event/dr-justin-paul-emergence-of-india-and-china-in-the-global-market/ citation 3 https://www.thesandspur.org/visiting-professor-wins-international-business-award Jimsocial (talk) 14:40, 13 March 2024 (UTC) Moved from my talk page. Russ Woodroofe (talk) 16:40, 13 March 2024 (UTC) [reply]

Visiting positions could be covered in brief, and can even be sourced to CV. I started to add this with the other visiting positions at the bottom, but was puzzled to note that the positions listed there do not match with what is listed in Paul's CV.
