The former was an offensive tackle for the Philadelphia Eagles. Failed 15 drug tests, banning him from the NFL.

The latter played the same position for the same team, but tested positive for cocaine and spent 3 years incarcerated for sexual assault. Allen was promptly banned from the league.

Official suspension[edit]

There is a bit of a semantics question that should probably have a consensus, seeing as someone may make a similar future edit. This edit was reverted on the grounds that the official (Roy Ellison) was placed on administrative leave, and deemed not to be a suspension. Upon returning from administrative leave, he was fined a game check. Of course, the NFL will spin the story how it sees fit, but it does fit within the parameters of a suspension. If he was on a paid leave for one week, and they found his fault should be to not pay him that week, it is a one-week suspension no matter how it is framed by the NFL. The source from the previous official listed (Rob Vernatchi) uses "suspension" in the article, but the league statement they quoted never used the word suspension. In this case, it is listed as a suspension, despite the NFL statement. —Twigboy (talk) 04:39, 14 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
