Seat totals[edit]

I think the source being used to claim Shias won 10 seats is being misused – it lists the religion of all MPs, which is not necessarily the same thing as their political bloc; two of those listed as Shias (Ahmed Hassan Saleh Ashour and Adnan Syed Abdul Samad Ahmed Sayed Zahid) are also members of political parties, so I assume are being counted in other blocs by the other sources. Reducing the number of independents to increase the number of Shia members was definitely incorrect given that the two have political affiliations. Number 5 7 06:57, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The Washington Post and other reliable sources confirmed that there are 10 Shia MPs. Shia MPs are only part of Shia Islamist political parties, they're not part of non-Shia political parties. @Onasloga: If you readd it, it will be reverted. You need a source that gives the entire results, not just focussing on one group. You are completely misrepresenting the sources. You are referencing the statement "The Shia group was reduced to 10 seats after winning 17 seats in December 2012" with these —source:

BBC News, which states "Shia candidates won eight seats in the 50-member parliament"
Washington Post, which does say there were 10 Shias
Kuwait Politics Database, which lists 10 Shias, but also notes that two of them are members of political parties, and are therefore not part of the Shia group (nor are they independents, which you tried to reduce the number of by two to fit in an extra two Shias).

I am not adding misleading information. Shia MPs are an identity bloc. There are 10 Shia MPs and two of those MPs are part of political parties (Shia Islamist political parties). The 28 "Independents" are Sunnis. -- Onasloga (talk • contribs) 21:05, 11 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You're abusing the power that you have as an administrator. The Politics Database does provide full results of the election. The source mentions that the two Shia MPs are part of Shia Islamist political parties. They are part of Shia Islamist political parties, therefore they're part of the Shia group. @Onasloga: I am not abusing any power I have – if I was, I would have blocked you. You are entering incorrect information into the article – this is about the 2013 elections, but the results you are talking about are from an election afterwards.
