Update needed[edit]

This article, much of which I wrote a decade ago (based mainly on news reports) needs updating. Apart from a small amount of cleaning up, however, I don't think I should do it myself: I have got to know several of his family members online and consider them to be friends. That makes it VERY difficult for me to maintain a neutral point of view. Therefore, I am hoping that people who know about the subject of this article, but don't have strong feelings for or against what he stands for, will put in the necessary post-2007 information. Thanks! David Cannon (talk) 07:15, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Davidcannon, it's been years, however I would like to request your sources for this article if you can recall in the wake of his death. I've nominated for ITN, yet it cannot be posted under its current state. Crusader1096 (message) 01:07, 25 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately a lot of sources got lost in the wake of the 2006 coup. Many online news outlets were censored and their pages taken down. Many of them have not been restored. As I said in my previous post a few years ago, I have gotten to know several members of his family. I They have become good friends, which makes it hard for me to have the degree of objectivity now that I had when I first wrote the article (I didn't know any of his relatives at the time).David Cannon (talk) 16:34, 12 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'm working to source the article, but if you can keep an eye on it - sometimes there are things I might miss from not knowing the political history, so wouldn't mind you fact checking. I'm mainly commenting to figure out how to approach these books later - both mention the National Alliance Party. First on page 179 confirms the date of party formation: [1] Page 534: [2]
