Untitled 2015 comment[edit]

The essence of any democratic election is the list of promises which each contesting party displays to the electorate. This list, called a manifesto, describes the issues on which the election is being held. Hence, I propose that the manifesto of each political party be included in the page for the sake of completeness of information on the topic. I propose to include a section titled "Party Manifestos" before the section "Contestants".

Thanks, Abhishek100292 (talk) 17:07, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

- I agree that Manifestos must be included in the election page. Rasulnrasul (talk) 18:24, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Your request should be accompanied by a complete and specific description of what you want to be added, which is to say that you should specify exactly what text should be included in your proposed section. Pishcal 18:53, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Can some one fix the content in manifesto section directly asking users to go to certain party websites. I am just not sure how to do it without any one pouncing on me or edit waring  A m i t  웃   03:31, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The date for election in the schedule (table) has a typo: The date of poll should be Feb 7, 2015 instead of Jan 7, 2015 please change the date of poll in Schedule section from Jan 7 to Feb 7. Aniket.pugaonkar (talk) 18:35, 29 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Manifesto High lights[edit]

Why Content of manifesto are being constantly removed ? Its important to put highlights of Manifesto instead of just links or saying released in party website ?

Rasulnrasul (talk) 08:57, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this. The information being given by the party manifestos should be included on the page.
Abhishek100292 (talk) 09:08, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
But not by citing the party page itself. The manifestos were removed with this comment that without proper citation adhering to WP:CITE not to put the content back in. If the details are notable and citation from neutral places and not from party website i dont have any issues  A m i t  웃   11:48, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you Amit. For the section "Aam Aadmi Party" in "Manifestos", I propose to edit the current line along with a neutral citation.
Edit: The Aam Aadmi Party will release its Manifesto by January end. However, they have claimed that it will be based on a series of discussions called Delhi Dialogue which they have held with the citizens and experts in the city since past two months.

Agree for sure any content without proper citation should not be included, but Manifestos section is removed completely previously. Adding manifesto issues and promises (with proper citation) is required. Rasulnrasul (talk) 14:13, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Abhishek, the citation you provided doesnt link Delhi Dialogue with the AAP manifesto.  A m i t  웃   15:22, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Rasul, Agreed, a summary of manifesto and not such a large section and when the manifesto section was removed it was merged with the Campaign section at that point in further edits - Wikipedia is not a directory either.  A m i t  웃   15:22, 30 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Amit, I recently noticed that you removed a link to congress party's election manifesto citing we should not refer to party webpage. Could you please tell me where exactly it's mentioned in WP:CITE. Thanks Jinesh Amit, Please also let me know why you think the Delhi Dialogue process which AAP uses for formulating their manifesto should not be mentioned in this section. Thanks Jinesh

Amit, the link you provided does not support your claims. No where is it mentioned that we are not allowed to refer to party webpages. I hope you must be convinced yourself by now. [[User::Jineshkj|Jinesh]]

Aam Aadmi Party has released its manifesto for the elections. [1] I propose that the details such as manifesto highlights and the citation be added to the section "Aam Aadmi Party" under section "MAnifestos". Thanks, Abhishek100292 (talk) 06:46, 31 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Is it some kind of bias towards a particular political party that only those opinion polls are added which are favourable to it and not those which are not favourable? Why zee news- Taleem poll was still not added while HT and ABP polls were added within minutes? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.152.221.150 (talk) 05:58, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

SAD[edit]

BJP is contesting election in alliance with SAD. Can someone find relevant source and add this to article? Regards, -Nizil (talk) 19:22, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Opinion Polls[edit]

User:Utcursch, would you please explain why you are removing contents from this table. You also seem to be mangling the dates and references. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jineshkj (talkcontribs) 05:39, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not removing any content - you removed ET-TNS survey. As for the dates, I'm fixing them. utcursch | talk 06:17, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The week-IMRB is already present. The news date is 4 February, but the actual survey was conducted during 22-24 January. Same with India TV-CVoter -- the actual survey date is 25-31 January. I don't have enough time to update the % right now. Hope another editor else does that. utcursch | talk 04:36, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

India TV- Cvoter poll is a new one conducted in the last week of january. The one already there is the one conducted in the week before. This is new one so pls post it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.152.221.150 (talk) 05:43, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

There are both 18–24 January (fourth week) and 25–31 January (last week). Not in the vote share section, though -- like I said I don't have time to update that section right now. Hope someone else can help. utcursch | talk 06:18, 5 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
