Cristina[edit]

Does it make sense to list Cristina Kirchner as a potential candidate? As described, she can not run for a new term unless the constitution is amended. Which is just a possibility that may or may not happen, not a mere formal step like registering as a candidate or selecting a vicepresident candidate. In the current legal framework of Argentina, as it is, Cristina Kirchner is not a potential candidate. If the constitution is amended (with emphasis in "if"), then we may list her. Map[edit]

The map showing Argentina's territories show the Falkland islands which are only a disputed territory and not an internationally recognised part of the country. I would suggest updating or changing the map to reflect this. Ronmoger (talk) 05:45, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It also shows Argentine claims on Antarctica as having voted for Front for Victory. In line with the reasons above, this should be changed. Also, just checking on that, the people in Antarctica actually overwhelmingly voted for PRO (some 80%). The reason it's shown as blue is that administratively, it is part of Tierra del Fuego province (along with the islands), which voted for FPV. Comments[edit]

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to list every single deputy running in every province in Argentina. I suggest creating a separate list article for that section, or simply remove it altogether.

Opinion polls[edit]

I propose to remove the section on the opinion polls. It is too much information, and it will be ultimately pointless. We should simply move some of the data to the context section, to the parts were it may be noteworthy to mention the opinion polls of the time (such as the decrease of Massa from his initially higher numbers), and remove the rest. I agree that most of the information is irrelevant now, and as you say, some of it should be moved. The numbers should simply be put in a table, and perhaps some major domestic events outlined there if there is any correlation with changes (though this may not be the case). Governor elections[edit]

Should it not also be mentioned that numerous governors were elected?[1] I think the changes of government in the province of Buenos Aires should also be mentioned elsewhere in the article since it received a lot of coverage as being a big blow for the FPV and huge victory for PRO/Cambiemos. I added the initial paragraph. How do you suggest I format the results? I think for the time being a table as having a sub-section for each province would require a lot of research, but I don't feel strongly in either case. I didn't see the message when I started on the table, but it's generally in line with what you're saying. It could probably be trimmed down removing the incumbents - but in that case it would be good to show the changes in the total party affiliations briefly above. Parties vs Electoral fronts and coalitions[edit]

Single or separate ballot[edit]

Does Argentina use the single ballot system (one vote for president/Senate/Chamber as used in Uruguay) or are there separate ballots for all three? I'm just wondering why there don't seem to be separate figures for the Congressional elections. Cheers, Number 57 21:24, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

They use different categories for each seat (President, Senators, Deputies, and even Governors or other seats according to the province), but the ballot paper for each party/candidate contains all the categories (the ballots are printed by the parties and are usually long), although a voter can cut off some categories and add the ballots for other party in the category that didn't vote for on the original party. In example: if I vote for president and senator for the Justicialist Party, I could vote for Cambiemos on the Deputies' election cutting off the Justicialist Party ballot in the way that it include only the president and senator category, and adding the Cambiemos ballot for the deputy candidates inside the envelope. That's called "crossed vote" (voto cruzado in Spanish) or "ballot cutting" (corte de boleta). I hope this clarify you some of your doubts. Regards. --Sfs90 (talk) 23:09, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There's some pictures of some different ballots in the commons. In the city of Buenos Aires (and also Salta I think) there's a unified electronic ballot where you can do what Sfs90 said (voting for different parties for different positions) on a screen and it then prints it out on a single standardised ballot. I'm not sure if any provinces use a single non-electronic ballot. Different parties and politicians advocated different ways of changing the existing system - it was pretty contentious. This page has all the official results. Get into each province, and there is a section for all the specific results, senators and deputes included. But it's a huge number of tables to add, so it will take some time. Let's hope that Scioli does not resign as it is rumored, so we have time until november 22 to complete this. Yes, rather a lot of work; if only I didn't have a job... I am still trying to compile the Haitian parliamentary election results (first round), which were released only by constituency. The problem there is that about halfway through I found the results of a small number of constituencies with large number of candidates were missing the second pages of results, meaning some of the figures are inaccessible :s Number 57 16:52, 30 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Run-off[edit]

"Results" section and what needs to be done[edit]

Might it not be better to split this section up now since it's getting rather long? Essentially make the current sub-headings into headings.

I feel it's preferable to have all the results under the heading "Results". I think the answer is to split the results by province to a separate article (which is done widely across other countries where detailed results are produced – e.g. Results of the Malaysian general election, 2013 by parliamentary constituency).
