Fairy tale[edit]

"Zhuj Selmani fought for 10 years in his tower..." If this character is an Albanian version of Rapunzel or a similar fairy tale, that should be somehow stated in the article. Vladimir (talk) 17:46, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm guessing this comes from the same "historian" who said the Nemanjić were an Albanian dynasty and that Serbia was "invented" by Russian intelligence agencies in 1804 so that Russia could eventually acquire access to the Mediterranean . 23 editor (talk) 22:17, 26 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, it could be the same crackpot. Vladimir (talk) 18:39, 27 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

death year[edit]

Resnjari the article says he died in 1875. That can't be true as he participated in the events of 77-78. Do you have a source with the correct date? --Calthinus (talk) 14:29, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Calthinus, this is a weird one. His statue in Peja says 1875 as his death date! I don't know and i have not looked into it further at this point in time.Resnjari (talk) 17:00, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Calthinus actually he did die in 1875, not 1878. It was at the beginning years of the Great Eastern Crisis (1875-1878). I know this is not the best of sources, but this source [1] is a copy and post of an Albanian article. Selmani was a frontiersmen which as such repelled Montenegrin forces and died in the process. The wiki article is going to need some rewording with RS.Resnjari (talk) 17:12, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok cool. Thanks for squaring this away.--Calthinus (talk) 19:30, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Found this RS source by Irfan Morina (written in Turkish) discussing Zhuj Selmani and Albanian folk songs and epic poetry [2]. p. 24.Resnjari (talk) 17:17, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Calthinus, i've done some changes, added some sources etc. I hope it goes to some way fixing the article. Best.Resnjari (talk) 19:45, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
