Reliable sources[edit]

Could you please explain what is needed. The external links follow to RIF - Renju International Federation official cite. It's like FIDE in chess. There are no better sources in the whole world. What extra sources do you need? There are some 'dedicated for event' sites made for big tournaments like several Team World Championship sites, several World Championship sites. There are some national federations and so on. Do you really need them? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renju player (talkcontribs) 13:43, 13 March 2012 (UTC) Moreover, since 2009 Renju World Championships are being played by Yamaguchi rules. Is it enough to make this page notable? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renju player (talkcontribs) 13:58, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Renju player, there are several sorts of things to consider when we look at sources, one is accuracy and another is independence. I have no doubt that the official site will have accurate information, but independent sources (including offline sources such as newspapers and books) have the advantage that we can use them to judge notability. The test for notability is roughly has this been covered by independent sources? ϢereSpielChequers 14:13, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the answer. But actually these sources are to be placed on the renju page, not on pages with rules detalization, aren't them? There are some, and the list can be easily widened because the game really exists. But why it is needed here, on this page? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renju player (talkcontribs) 14:32, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright issues[edit]

This page don't break any copyrights because it describes rules of the board game (namely renju). It is possible to find details of each opening rule on the internet and they don't belong to any third party. The article refers to RIF official page because RIF is an official organization which maintains renju activities throughout the world. RIF statutes: http://renju.net/organizations/rifstatutes.php

Contested deletion[edit]

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because it doesn't violate any copyright law. Read more on the talk page. — Renju player (talk) 13:15, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Importance and copyright are two very different things. I have declined the speedy deletion for lack of importance, but we can't just copy other people's words into Wikipedia. We take facts from elsewhere and write them in our own words. If there is information elsewhere that has a similarly open copyright and can be imported then it is important that we attribute it appropriately. ϢereSpielChequers 14:13, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, sorry, I've missed. The first notification from bot was that this page may violate copyright law. Concerning importance - people play renju, you may see that the article renju is translated to a lot of languages. But people is lazy and nobody cares about wiki - we know the rules, we don't need any wiki, that's the point. Now I'm going to think the same way because of this mind-crashing hospitality here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renju player (talkcontribs) 14:36, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

BTW[edit]

By the way, you make me think badly about your admins and bots. The cited link refers to Johnsson opening rule, which is different from Yamaguchi opening rule described here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Renju player (talkcontribs) 13:18, 13 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
