False skew arch[edit]
This is actually a false skew arch as can be seen in Google maps if you select Streetview and take a virtual walk under the bridge. The courses of stone that make up the arch barrel run parallel with the abutments. At the moment I can't find any references to cite so I can't add this as a fact to the article as it would violate WP:OR. There don't seem to be any public domain photos either. In fact, other than the Google Streetview pics, I haven't been able to find any at all. Come on you proud people of Wallingford! —MegaPedant 10:15, 11 March 2011 (UTC)
Babe Rush Crash October 1920[edit]
The "Throwback" story in the Ref section mentions "The bridge is perhaps best known for an accident involving one of America’s great sports heroes. On Oct. 2, 1920, then-25-year-old Babe Ruth collided with a truck while driving a new roadster, according to Record-Journal archives." It might be notable- but it's the same year Ruth had another major car crash, so it's hard to find this one. This non-RS Baseball Blog says "On Friday October 1, 1920 the Journal’s Headline ran; BABE RUTH HURT IN WRECK OF AUTO ON MERIDEN CONN. PIKE. MACHINE CONVEYING HOME RUN KING SIDESWIPES TRUCK AND IS THROWN INTO A FIELD." which might refer to the Yalesville crash.
I can only see the free newspaper sites, so this might be worth a quick search for anyone with access to more Newspapers. Estheim (talk) 13:15, 19 December 2020 (UTC)
