William Kennedy Smith Barroom Brawl in 1993
[edit]http://articles.chicagotribune.com/keyword/william-kennedy-smith Is this story off limits for the posted article for some reason? It involved William Kennedy Smith where a guy walked up to him and made fun of him pertaining to the rape case. It was stated in the news that William Kennedy lost the fight. Can someone add a synopsis of this article to the page or will it get deleted? Thank you! jbutera (talk) October 26, 2013 —Preceding undated comment added 06:44, 26 October 2013 (UTC)

[edit]The Court TV article is very biased against Kennedy. What is the standard NPOV way of indicating such? Mick 22:09, 12 January 2006 (UTC)
Why is Patricia Bowman not named, when she is named in the official court documents, available online from various websites, including:

1991 rape charge and acquittal
[edit]".. Smith, then 30 years old, was in a bar (named Au Bar) in Palm Beach, Florida, with his uncle, Senator Ted Kennedy, and his cousin Patrick Kennedy. Smith met a 29-year-old woman and another young woman at the bar. The four then went to a nearby house..".
It's 3 men and 2 women, so it's not clear who the 4 people are. Would anyone like to correct this? Thanks Kvsh5 (talk) 10:42, 17 October 2009 (UTC)
- The accuser's name, Patricia Bowman, became well known.[3] I'm not so sure it's important to name the non-notables in the discussion. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots→ 14:13, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
Bryn Mawr
[edit]It was pointed out at Wikipedia:Editor assistance/Requests that Bryn Mawr is an all-female college. Somebody check whether WKS actually attended. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 05:25, 21 February 2011 (UTC)
- As I posted there [4] it's not all-female. I have added a citation.[5] PrimeHunter (talk) 13:46, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Could someone please add the standard biographical information to this article's lead section on the subject's nationality, place of birth, country, etc. Wikipedia is read worldwide. --Kudpung (talk) 14:33, 21 February 2011 (UTC)

Notability?
[edit]Is this guy really notable by Wikipedia standards? Pretty much all the independent coverage of him relates to a rape trial (where he was acquitted) and a lawsuit for sexual assault (which was dismissed). That's really not enough to build a balanced biography of a living person on. Perhaps this article should be merged into the general one on the Kennedy family. "face hidden by dot" not quite accurate - only on TV
[edit]I'm out of town and without my sign-on credentials. Would someone be willing to rewrite the sentence saying "her face was hidden by a dot" to indicate that was only so when her testimony was broadcast on Court TV and CNN. In the courtroom, she could be fully seen. Also could this entry use expansion to include the controversy over media coverage of the case? Like Anita Hill, same year, this case became a touchstone for what many women felt was biased, victim-blaming treatment in the media and in court. (See the controversy over naming the victim, and Fox Butterworth's NYT profile of the victim.) It was a notorious case not only because it involved a Kennedy, but for the ways that reporters close to the Kennedys covered the case. It still gets referred to. Is Kennedy an important enough person to have the names of his siblings in the entry? 142.254.125.95 (talk) 22:21, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
