MLE on boundary

[edit]

When the MLE under the null hypothesis lies on the boundary of the parameter space, one knows that the usual asyptotics must be unreliable. In many circumstances it turns out that the Wilks statistic has a null hypothesis distribtion which is a mixture of chi-square distributions with various numbers of degrees of freedom. I correct the lead of the article which contained a number of statements which were meaningless or downright wrong. The article needs links to work on this problem.
