On February 17th, 2015 I added the following edit to Walter Liedtke’s page: “His appreciation for innovative art extended to works by contemporary artists. For example, Pale Male: a Pilgrimage, an interactive digital painting by Roz Dimon was purchased by Liedtke for the Metropolitan Museum in 2008." The edit was deleted without notice or comment on the Talk page by the “Modernist”, despite the fact that the edit is factual, provable and relevant. If you could provide me with a reason why the edit was deleted or how I could improve it, I would appreciate it. It is crucial that Dr. Liedtke’s interest and support of this contemporary artist is not forgotten. I’ll be happy to provide more references if necessary. Thank you

(edit conflict with Modernist but I already wrote it and have more detail so save anyway)
Hi Kasiarej87, Modernist's edit summary said "needs verification, and reliable references". You say the statement is "factual, provable and relevant". Modernist was inviting you to do just that: prove it. To start with you could cite some references in this section here on the talk page. (e.g. newspaper articles, academic journals, museum publications. or at least provide a lesser source like museum archives of Liedtke's papers/notes) The relevant policies are:

I'd add to the above thoughts that WP:COI may be a concern, especially if the proposed edits are being made by the artist's representative. I'd also advise that even if there were a reliable source to support the edit, this appears to be more important to the artist than to Mr. Liedtke; it really doesn't merit being singled out in his biography as an example of an interest in contemporary art. For that several references from reliable sources, addressing the interest in broader terms, rather than focused on a single artist, would be preferable. Incidentally, a person's notability generally needs to be established in order to merit mention in a Wikipedia article, per WP:NOTABILITY. JNW (talk) 22:25, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply and suggestions. I'll make sure to provide more resources supporting the edit soon. Best, KR — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kasiarej87 (talkcontribs) 16:22, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Updated PERSONDATA in footer as well to reflect correct date.
Apologies, in addition to updating his works and publications, I have been meaning to update the references for this entry. I will try to do this over this weekend.
Will address the Dimon work referred to above as well, as part of that.
So very sorry for your loss.... -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 19:49, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Looked for verifiable citation re: Dimon work at the Met and was unsuccessful; only found artist-reported information. If there are citations available please post them. -- Erika aka BrillLyle (talk) 20:22, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
