Who dropped the medal?[edit]

It is not clear from the text weather Ivanov in fact did drop a medal in the river. Text removed from article:

When Ivanov collected his medal he was so excited he jumped for joy and he unfortunately lost the medal which flung
from his hand and into the rowing lake. Ivanov jumped into the lake to look for the medal to no avail.
He was eventually provided a duplicate medal by the International Olympic Committee. The American [[John B. Kelly, Jr.|Kelly]]
who finished third is noteworthy as he gave his bronze medal to his sister [[Grace Kelly]], Princess of [[Monaco]] as a
wedding present. He was also the son of triple gold medalist [[John B. Kelly, Sr.]], whose feat Ivanov would eventually match.
Ivanov didn't drop his medal in Lake Wendouree, Ballarat. Victor Ivanov, who stroked the coxless pairs, dropped his silver medal
in the lake. It was later found by a local schoolboy who returned it to Victor the following day. Victor invited him to dine
at the Olympic village.

We should find a good reference on that... --Ivelimir 16:08, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
