[edit]If virchow's triad leads to VENOUS thrombosis then how can ATHERESCLEROSIS (an arterial) be a contributing factor? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Henryshepherd24 (talk • contribs) 23:36, 21 November 2007 (UTC)
As far as i know, virchow's triad affects arteries also, not just veins. Administrator Jr. (talk) 13:56, 27 October 2008 (UTC)
From wikipedia France
[edit]Hi my name is nicolas bourdon, I just wanted to submit you this other factor favoring thrombus:
- atherosclerosis
- prolonged immobilization, varicose veins, extrinsic compression of the vein, heart failure, atrial fibrillation (in this case the blood pools in the atria) ...
- thrombophilie (antithrombine, protein C, protein S), antiphospholipides syndroms.
- some contracpetiv pills
Each factor would be favoring one of the virchow triade category.
