UPS cutout

Does anyone know why Vernon has a hole in the middle? The borders of the city have a 'finger' that runs up Downey rd, crosses the river, and encircles the big UPS dispatch center there - ie cuts UPS out of Vernon. So this is like a mini-kingdom of Vernon? Very cool city! I wish we could have more info on the family and the residents of Vernon.

"Los Angeles River" Photo is incorrectly labeled

That is not the LA River. It is Coyote Creek in Santa Fe Springs. The photo appears to be taken from the railway bridge north of Rosecrans Ave.

Nice spotting, that does appear to be exactly where it was taken from (I actually tried to pin down the location of that image once before, but was looking in the wrong place, apparently).
