VV GoesVV GOES – The name of the club is an acronym. Gezamenlijk Opwaarts Eendrachtig Sterk. Just because the result of the acronym happens to be the same as the name of the town the club is from, is no reason to write the clubname with only a capital "G". It should be consistent with other clubs which are an acronym. DVS '33, ODIN '59, VVOG, VVSB, ADO '20, DEM, EVV, HSC '21, OFC, VV UNA etc etc. Especially ODIN '59, we don't make it Odin '59 just because Odin happens to be Germanic god. Furthermore the club is listed with caps in chamber of commerce KvK, the club logo (on Wiki page) uses all caps. Similar for the most relevant Dutch sites for football like Teletekst, Hollandse Velden, VI as well as the on EN Wiki often referenced site SoccerwaySb008 (talk) 20:48, 14 November 2020 (UTC).[reply]

  • Mild oppose The team plays in the town of Goes, and the acronym seems tongue-in-cheek and kind of like a backronym. A quick scan of the references on the page, and on the wider internet seems to show that lower and upper case have similar useage patterns. And the official website - [1] seems to prefer the current styling so I'd rather keep it as is.--Ortizesp (talk) 23:42, 14 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
At the KvK clubs are registered by their statutory name. The clublogo on the club website is also more than clear. --Sb008 (talk) 01:05, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
When it comes to such styling matters per MOS:TM and WP:ALLCAPS, Wikipedia doesn't care about registration statutes and logos. Are there independent reliable sources that use "Goes"? — BarrelProof (talk) 23:40, 15 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As far as reliable is concerned, the best known sources like Teletekst, Hollandse Velden, VI and Soccerway should be considered most. And probably the most reliable of all, is the website of the club. Perhaps not independent but that seems to me, where the name is concerned, irrelevant. If the club doesn't know its own name, who does? --Sb008 (talk) 22:36, 16 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
