Recent phenonmenon? New trend?[edit]

Those who believe that wineries inside cities is something new are recommended to make a visit to Reims (pop. almost 200,000) and Epernay, where all the big Champagne houses are located, and to Beaune where most Burgundy negociants are located, most of them even within the medieval city walls. And if you're happy to call small towns and villages urban, why not visit places like Ribeauvillé and Riquewihr in Alsace, Rüdesheim and Hochheim in Rheingau, Bernkastel-Kues in Mosel and Deidesheim in Pfalz and look at the famous wineries lined up in those places.
