Merging Court TV[edit]

Not a problem ... now the next step, I think, is merging Court TV into this article. Reason being is simple--TruTV is the same network as Court TV. In fact, the bugs now airing clearly state "Court TV is now TruTV." The Court TV article implies that Court TV no longer exists, which is clearly not true--for over a month, it ran promos saying that it was merely changing its name and relaunching, not closing down. You're right. For some reason, I always was under the impression that TruTV was a completely new network and the focus was distinctly moving away from investigations and law enforcement programing, but after seeing their January schedule, I'm now convinced that its only a name change (at least for the time being.) I have no problems with merging the Court TV artcle with this, lets just get a consensus first. Mr Senseless (talk) 20:46, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, what should've happened was that when the switchover happened this morning, the CourTV article should have been renamed to TruTV, not having another article written and then merging in CourTV. --Son (talk) 22:14, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, these should be the same page. History merge has been requested. -- Cmjc80 (talk) 22:24, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

History merge looks inappropriate to me. They are the same network and should be merged, but the Tru TV article was re-written from scratch and has a different history. Cool Hand Luke 04:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Since the history merge looks like it won't happen please make all future edits to Court TV and move it to TruTV so that 4 years of edit history aren't lost to a redirect page. I've moved TruTV to TruTV (temp) for the time being. -- Cmjc80 (talk) 04:57, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

And it was nominated for speedy... That's even worse. We need both article histories per GFDL. I'm moved this history to Tru TV, which will serve as a redirect. Cool Hand Luke 07:05, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
