Untitled[edit]

I couldn't find good info on the "largest stone quarries", but from things I ran across, it sounds this is often refered to as the second or third largest quarry in the world, but these may be bigger:

Type of rock[edit]

If anyone knows, it would be nice to say what kind of rock is quarried at this site. I'm guessing limestone, but we don't guess on Wikipedia! Jnmwiki (talk) 03:25, 15 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Contract with MWRD[edit]

I started a section on the use of the Thornton Quarry to hold stormwater prior to treatment, under contract with Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago since 1998. I took info from other Wikipedia articles but used no other sources. I suppose some of those are needed. - - Prairieplant (talk) 15:39, 4 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
