  • This article is redundant. I suggest you add things to Nirvana instead of here. Wickethewok 09:02, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The way to Nirvana[edit]

In this article, I am going document about the Buddhist Practice of Mindfulness. Please, let me finish this article.

This article looks like a duplicate of Noble Eighthold Path, which, by definition, is the path to nirvana. Is this about Nirvana, or the path to Nirvana or Mindfullness? FWBOarticle
I think this article should be merged with Eightfold Path or else with Buddhism. - Nat Krause(Talk!) 02:33, 12 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I strongly agree with Nat.
For me, this article reads like a thoughtful and sincere personal essay on one practitioner's deeply felt, sometimes eclectic understanding of Buddhism. Perhaps if one wanted to better integrate this article into the current web of WP Buddhism articles, one could insert a series of "See also" tags to point WP readers to various other articles (e.g., Buddhist meditation, Satipatthana, Satipatthana Sutta, Threefold Training, Householder (Buddhism), Pagoda, etc.) that, at least in my mind and based on my limited worldview, are far better sourced and that integrate a variety of authoritative texts and sometimes diverse perspectives. But, if such insertions were made here, then I wonder what scholastic, objective, WP purpose this article would then provide?
I strongly applaud this article's inspired and big-hearted author's obvious dedication to Buddhism, wish him or her the greatest success in his or her practice, and take true joy in the doubtless merit they earn for spreading the Dhamma; nonetheless, with humbleness I ask: would not this article's current material be better suited for a sincere practitioner's personal memoire or personal web page? In other words, I think it definitely deserves web-publication; I am just not convinced that this is the right place.
I regret that I do not have the time now to fully analyze this article's strengths and needs but would like to suggest that the generous and good-hearted author or another either make a rationale case for its on-going existence or possibly consider its deletion. I raise this option, frankly, out of concern that, otherwise, an unknowning WP reader might happen upon this page and then not appreciate this article's simplicity, eclecticism and lack of perspective, thus proceeding without benefit of the knowledge articled more comprehensively elsewhere on WP Buddhism (e.g., see the above-mentioned wikilinks).
I sincerely regret if my attempt to quickly add my sincere views and observations is viewed as harsh. May you be well & happy, Larry Rosenfeld (talk) 18:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fantasy[edit]

"This writer is from Sri Lanka. Many Bikkhus and normal followers in this island have reached to this ultimate goal and however, they do not boast about their success. If Aryans are not in the world today, the Damma is not Akalika. Akalika means for ever, for the past, for the present and for the future. If Damma is Akalika, the followers will also attain Sovan Phala, Sakudhagami Phala, Anagami Phala and ultimately Nibbana." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.134.211.156 (talk) 00:32, 27 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
